Teaching Assistant – Autism Support (Term‑time)

About the role

This full‑time, term‑time only position supports children with autism and other SEND needs within a school that is part of a respected academy trust. It is ideal for psychology graduates or candidates with experience in the SEND sector who want to make a tangible difference in young learners' lives.

Key responsibilities

• Support pupils with emotional and sensory regulation needs.
• Assist children displaying challenging behaviours and help develop coping strategies.
• Create and deliver tailored learning activities.
• Provide consistent, empathetic supervision to ensure student safety and well‑being.
• Collaborate closely with class teachers, SENCOs and other professionals to meet individual learning plans.

Required profile

• Passionate about SEND and committed to helping pupils reach their potential.
• Experience working with children, preferably in a similar role or within a psychology/SEND context.
• Resilient, patient and proactive with a flexible, team‑oriented approach.
• Available to work Monday‑Friday, 08:30‑15:30, term‑time only.
