Teaching Assistant – Catholic Primary School (Barnet, London)

About the role

We are looking for enthusiastic Teaching Assistants to join a vibrant Catholic primary school in Barnet, North London. The position starts in September and offers a full‑time, day‑rate contract for the academic year, with the possibility of a permanent role thereafter.

Key responsibilities

• Provide general classroom support across infant and junior classes.
• Deliver one‑to‑one support for pupils with special educational needs (SEN).
• Assist the teacher with lesson preparation, resource organisation and classroom management.
• Help maintain a safe, inclusive and supportive learning environment.

Required profile

• Previous experience working with children in a primary or nursery setting.
• Demonstrated ability to support pupils with a range of additional needs.
• Flexible, adaptable and a strong team player.
• Willingness to embrace the Catholic ethos while respecting diverse backgrounds.

Required skills

• Effective communication with children and staff.
• Basic understanding of SEN strategies and classroom support techniques.
