Teaching Assistant – College (19‑25 year olds)

About the role
Join the vibrant College team at St Elizabeth’s Centre to support learners aged 19‑25 with complex learning needs. You will work alongside teachers and therapists to create a safe, inclusive environment where each student can thrive.
Key responsibilities
- Provide one‑to‑one and small‑group support for learning, communication and independence.
- Assist in delivering creative, personalised lessons that follow individual education plans.
- Promote a positive classroom atmosphere that respects diversity and emotional wellbeing.
- Offer personal care and administer medication when required, with full training provided.
- Collaborate with staff to celebrate progress and nurture each learner’s potential.
Required profile
- Calm, kind and patient with a genuine passion for helping others.
- Willingness to learn; formal qualifications are not mandatory.
- Experience in an education or care setting is desirable but not essential.
- Strong communication skills and ability to engage with students with learning disabilities.
- Team‑player with good organisational abilities.
Required skills
- Basic ICT proficiency.
What we offer
- Term‑time contract (40 weeks per year, Monday‑Friday, 8:30 am‑4:30 pm).
- Salary £23,368 – £24,342 per annum (£13.30 – £13.86 hourly).
- Full training for personal care and medication administration.
