Teaching Assistant – English Graduate – West London

About the role

We are seeking an enthusiastic English Graduate to join a high‑achieving secondary school in West London as a Teaching Assistant. This full‑time, long‑term position starts in September and offers the chance to gain hands‑on classroom experience before pursuing teacher training.

Key responsibilities

• Support English lessons for Key Stages 3 and 4.
• Deliver one‑to‑one and small‑group literacy intervention sessions.
• Assist students in improving reading, writing, comprehension and analytical skills.
• Work alongside experienced teachers to prepare lessons and manage the classroom.
• Help create a positive, inclusive and engaging learning environment.

Required profile

• Degree in English, English Literature, English Language or a closely related subject.
• Genuine passion for education and supporting young people.
• Excellent written and verbal communication abilities.
• Strong organisational and interpersonal skills.
• Proactive, patient and enthusiastic attitude.
• Previous experience with young people is desirable but not essential.
