Teaching Assistant for SEN Support (KS1)

About the role
The school is seeking a dedicated Teaching Assistant to work one‑to‑one with a KS1 pupil diagnosed with Autism Spectrum Disorder and ADHD. You will join a mixed‑ability class in a 3‑form entry primary school rated Good by Ofsted, supporting the child’s learning and behaviour throughout the academic year.
Key responsibilities
- Provide one‑to‑one support to the SEN pupil, implementing agreed behaviour‑management strategies.
- Assist the class teacher in preparing and tidying the learning environment before and after lessons.
- Create and adapt stimulating learning resources to promote academic progress.
- Collaborate with teaching staff to monitor the pupil’s development and adjust support as needed.
Required profile
- Previous experience as a SEN Teaching Assistant, preferably with ASD and ADHD.
- Proactive, initiative‑driven attitude with strong routine and organisational skills.
- Ability to obtain an Enhanced DBS check and, if applicable, overseas police clearances.
- Legal right to work in the United Kingdom.
Required skills
- Behaviour management techniques for children with special educational needs.
- Ability to design and adapt learning resources.
What we offer
- Fixed‑term contract from September 2026 to July 2027.
- Daily rate of £95‑£110, paid per day.
