About the role
The school is seeking a recent graduate to join its Special Educational Needs (SEND) department as a Teaching Assistant on a graduate‑programme basis. Working 30.5 hours per week across the 39‑week academic year, you will support the day‑to‑day operation of the SEND provision while gaining insight into a teaching career.
Key responsibilities
- Assist the SEND Lead Practitioner in delivering tailored support to pupils with special educational needs.
- Help maintain a safe, respectful and stimulating classroom environment.
- Promote positive behaviour in line with the school’s behaviour policy.
- Act as a role model, embodying the school values of Purposeful, Proud, Respectful, Curious, Supportive and Ambitious.
- Support teachers in lesson preparation and delivery where required.
Required profile
- Degree in any subject (graduates from any discipline are welcome).
- Minimum GCSE grade C/4 in English Language and Mathematics.
- Strong literacy and numeracy abilities.
- Commitment to working within a school setting and supporting young learners.
Required skills
- Excellent written and verbal communication.
- Ability to follow established routines and policies.
