Teaching Assistant – Immediate & Summer Work

About the role

Reed is seeking Teaching Assistants to support local schools in Kirkham and the wider North West region. Work is available immediately and will continue through the summer term, with the possibility of longer‑term placements from September onward.

Key responsibilities

• Provide one‑to‑one or group support to pupils across EYFS, Nursery and primary classrooms.
• Assist teachers with lesson preparation, classroom management and intervention activities.
• Cover temporary or supply gaps and, where appropriate, step into longer‑term or permanent positions.
• Maintain accurate records and follow safeguarding procedures.

Required profile

• Experience as a Teaching Assistant or a strong interest in starting a career in education.
• Flexibility to work part‑time, full‑time or on an as‑needed basis.
• Willingness to undergo a DBS check (refunded after 28 days of work).
• Commitment to continuous professional development.

Required skills

• Basic literacy and numeracy to support classroom activities.
• Ability to follow instructions and adapt to different school environments.
