Teaching Assistant

About the role

Reed Education, in partnership with Lancashire County Council, is recruiting Teaching Assistants for primary, secondary and SEN settings in Lancaster. The role supports teachers and pupils across the curriculum, providing one‑to‑one and small‑group assistance while helping maintain a safe and inclusive learning environment.

Key responsibilities

• Assist teachers in delivering lessons across EYFS, Key Stages 1‑5.
• Provide whole‑class, small‑group and individual support, including for pupils with special educational needs.
• Help prepare teaching resources and maintain classroom organisation.
• Support the implementation of the National Curriculum.
• Uphold safeguarding policies and promote pupil welfare.

Required profile

• Qualified Teaching Assistant (Level 1, Level 2, Level 3 or HLTA).
• Excellent communication, spelling and grammar.
• Recent experience in primary, secondary or SEN schools.
• Commitment to professional development and a passion for working with children.
• Ability to build positive relationships with pupils and staff.
• Strong commitment to safeguarding.
