Teaching Assistant

About the role

This full‑time, temporary position supports a friendly primary school in South Leeds. You will work alongside experienced staff to help pupils in Key Stage 1 and Key Stage 2 achieve their best.

Key responsibilities

  • Assist the class teacher with small‑group and one‑to‑one learning activities.
  • Support whole‑class lessons and help maintain a positive learning environment.
  • Monitor pupil progress, provide feedback and help raise attainment.
  • Follow safeguarding procedures and school behaviour policies.
  • Prepare and organise learning resources as directed.

Required profile

  • Enthusiastic, caring and patient attitude.
  • Experience working in a school setting and understanding of the curriculum.
  • Ability to work with individuals and groups of children.
  • Willingness to obtain a DBS check on the update service.

Required skills

  • No specific technical skills required.
