Teaching Assistant – Key Stage 1 (KS1) – 1‑2‑1 Support

About the role

Join a supportive school environment in the Wirral as a Key Stage 1 Teaching Assistant. You will work one‑to‑one with a SEND child, helping them navigate daily routines and learning activities while collaborating closely with the class teacher.

Key responsibilities

• Provide individualized support to a KS1 child, adapting activities to meet their needs.
• Assist the teacher with classroom management and small‑group tasks.
• Help maintain a positive, engaging learning atmosphere.
• Monitor and gently redirect challenging behaviour when required.
• Support the child’s day‑to‑day wellbeing and academic progress.

Required profile

• Teaching Assistant qualification or relevant transferable experience in care.
• Proactive, supportive attitude with a genuine passion for education.
• Comfortable working with children of varying abilities.
• Strong communication skills and ability to follow teacher directions.

Required skills

• Experience supporting children with special educational needs.
• Ability to manage one‑to‑one and small‑group interactions.
