Teaching Assistant – KS1 Classroom

About the role
We are looking for a motivated Teaching Assistant to join a KS1 classroom in Brixton, London, starting in September. The role supports a mixed‑ability class in an OFSTED ‘good’ school, helping both under‑performing and high‑achieving pupils.
Key responsibilities
- Provide one‑to‑one and group support to pupils, including SEN and under‑performing students.
- Assist the teacher with lesson preparation, classroom organisation, and displaying student work.
- Implement interventions to overcome emotional or social barriers to learning.
- Promote self‑esteem, independence, and high expectations among pupils.
- Maintain a purposeful, orderly environment in line with lesson plans.
Required profile
- Recent graduate or experienced teaching assistant.
- Desirable: an honours degree (preferably Upper Second) or equivalent.
- Strong commitment to supporting children’s development and inclusion.
