Teaching Assistant – KS1 & KS2 Intervention Support

About the role

A welcoming primary school in Lambeth is seeking an enthusiastic Teaching Assistant to join its support team from September 2026. The role combines one‑to‑one assistance with targeted small‑group interventions for Key Stage 1 and Key Stage 2 pupils who need extra academic help.

Key responsibilities

• Provide one‑to‑one support for pupils with additional learning needs.
• Deliver small‑group interventions in phonics, literacy and numeracy.
• Support pupils with SEND, including Autism, ADHD and speech‑language needs.
• Reinforce classroom learning and adapt activities where required.
• Encourage positive behaviour, resilience and independence.
• Collaborate with teachers and the SENCO to monitor pupil progress.

Required profile

• Experience working in a primary school or similar educational setting.
• Confidence supporting pupils individually and in small groups.
• Strong communication and behaviour‑management skills.
• Patient, proactive and able to use own initiative.
• Commitment to helping every child achieve academically and socially.
• Experience delivering intervention programmes or supporting pupils with SEND is highly beneficial.
