Teaching Assistant – KS2 Maths Interventions & Class Cover

About the role

We are seeking an enthusiastic and dependable Teaching Assistant to join a forward‑thinking primary school in Haringey, London, from September 2026. The role blends targeted maths interventions, everyday classroom support for Year 5, and occasional short‑term class cover when the teacher is absent.

Key responsibilities

• Deliver focused maths interventions for KS2 pupils.
• Support pupils with targeted learning needs across the classroom.
• Lead small‑group academic sessions as required.
• Assist classroom learning for Year 5, maintaining a positive environment.
• Supervise the class briefly during teacher absence, using pre‑set work.
• Collaborate closely with teachers and support staff.

Required profile

• Confident, enthusiastic and reliable.
• Ability to build strong relationships with pupils.
• Team‑oriented with a willingness to step up when needed.
• Willingness to hold an Enhanced DBS on the update service or apply through the agency.
