Teaching Assistant – KS3 SEMH Provision

About the role

We are looking for a confident and resilient Teaching Assistant to join a specialist KS3 SEMH provision in Speke. You will support pupils aged 11‑13 with social, emotional and mental health needs, helping them engage in learning and achieve positive outcomes.

Key responsibilities

  • Support students within the classroom and around the school.
  • Build strong relationships and promote positive behaviour.
  • Assist with learning activities and student engagement.
  • Help pupils develop emotional regulation and social skills.
  • Work closely with teaching and pastoral staff to provide consistent support.

Required profile

  • Experience working with young people, especially in challenging behaviour situations.
  • Background in sports coaching, youth work, mentoring, care or education is highly advantageous.
  • Ability to stay calm under pressure and act as a positive role model.
  • Willingness to become fully involved in school life.
