About the role
We are looking for a passionate Teaching Assistant to support SEN pupils in a specialist school in Greater Manchester. This temporary, full‑time position offers a rewarding environment where you will work closely with teachers, the SENCO and pastoral staff.
Key responsibilities
- Provide in‑class support for SEN pupils.
- Deliver 1:1 and small‑group assistance to help pupils engage with learning.
- Support classroom routines, transitions and break times.
- Collaborate with teachers and the SEND team to monitor progress and wellbeing.
Required profile
- Experience working with children or young people (schools, care, youth work, coaching, etc.).
- Patient, nurturing and resilient approach.
- Experience with SEN/SEMH is essential.
- A degree is advantageous but not mandatory.
- Strong communication and teamwork skills.
- Willingness to support personal care if required.
- Enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to apply).
