Teaching Assistant – Literacy & Numeracy Intervention

About the role
This position is for a Teaching Assistant who will deliver targeted literacy and numeracy interventions to secondary‑school pupils who need extra support. Working closely with class teachers, you will help small groups build confidence and improve their core academic skills.
Key responsibilities
- Deliver structured literacy and numeracy intervention sessions to small groups of pupils.
- Support pupils in developing key reading, writing and mathematical skills.
- Collaborate with class teachers to plan and implement targeted support programmes.
- Monitor pupil progress and provide feedback to teaching staff.
- Adapt learning activities to meet individual learning needs.
Required profile
- Previous experience as a Teaching Assistant, Learning Support Assistant or similar role.
- Experience supporting literacy and/or numeracy interventions.
- Strong English and Mathematics skills.
- Ability to engage and motivate pupils of varying abilities.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
