Teaching Assistant – Primary School (Full‑time, Contractor)

About the role

We are recruiting enthusiastic Teaching Assistants to support pupils in primary schools across Waltham Forest and Hackney. The role involves working directly with children on a 1:1 basis or in small groups, helping teachers deliver lessons and maintain a positive classroom environment.

Key responsibilities

• Support pupils individually and in small groups during lessons.
• Assist teachers with lesson delivery and classroom management.
• Help pupils stay engaged and make progress in their learning.
• Provide support for children with varied academic, behavioural and additional learning needs.
• Promote confidence, independence and positive learning behaviours.
• Contribute to a safe, inclusive and supportive learning environment.

Required profile

• Experience working with children or young people (school experience desirable but not essential).
• Positive, patient and proactive attitude.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Reliability, professionalism and willingness to learn.
• Genuine passion for supporting young people.
• Enhanced DBS on the Update Service or willingness to obtain one.
