Teaching Assistant – Primary School (Temporary Full‑Time)

About the role

We are looking for a motivated Teaching Assistant to join a welcoming primary school in St. Helens from September 2026. The role is full‑time and initially runs until the October half‑term, with the possibility of extension for the right candidate.

Key responsibilities

• Support the class teacher in delivering engaging lessons across EYFS, KS1 and KS2.
• Provide targeted assistance to individual pupils and small groups.
• Assist with classroom management and the creation of a positive learning environment.
• Collaborate with teachers, parents and other professionals to support pupil progress.

Required profile

• Recent experience working with children in a UK primary school or a similar setting.
• Ability to support pupils with a range of learning needs, including SEND.
• Patience, enthusiasm and a commitment to both academic and social development of children.
• Strong communication and teamwork skills.
• Hold, or be willing to obtain, an Enhanced DBS on the Update Service.

Required skills

• Enhanced DBS clearance (Update Service).
