Teaching Assistant – Primary Schools in East London

About the role

We are seeking enthusiastic Teaching Assistants to support pupils in primary schools across Tower Hamlets, Newham, Hackney and Waltham Forest. The role involves working directly with children on a one‑to‑one basis and in small groups to help them engage with lessons and progress academically.

Key responsibilities

• Assist teachers with lesson delivery and classroom management.
• Provide targeted support to pupils with varying academic, behavioural and additional learning needs.
• Encourage confidence, independence and positive learning behaviours.
• Help maintain a safe, inclusive and supportive learning environment.

Required profile

• Experience working with children or young people (school experience desirable but not essential).
• Positive, patient and proactive attitude.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Reliability, professionalism and willingness to learn.
• Enhanced DBS on the Update Service or willingness to obtain one.
