Teaching Assistant – Primary Schools (KS1/KS2)

About the role

Hays Education is partnering with a range of primary schools in Wigan to provide temporary Teaching Assistants from September onward. You will support pupils in Key Stage 1 and Key Stage 2 across mainstream and SEN settings, gaining experience in diverse classroom environments.

Key responsibilities

• Assist teachers in delivering English, Maths, Reading and Writing lessons.
• Provide one‑to‑one and small‑group support tailored to individual pupil needs.
• Adapt to different classes and subjects as required by the school.
• Collaborate closely with teachers and other TAs to monitor pupil progress.

Required profile

• Recent experience working with children, preferably in an educational setting.
• Flexibility to move between classes and adapt to varying school needs.
• Willingness to start immediately or on short notice.
• SEN experience is desirable but not mandatory.
