About the role
We are looking for a compassionate Teaching Assistant to join our specialist primary SEN school in Bury. Starting in September 2026, you will support children with a range of additional needs, helping them achieve academic and social progress in a nurturing environment.
Key responsibilities
- Provide one‑to‑one and small‑group support to pupils with autism, communication difficulties, sensory needs, and learning disabilities.
- Assist teachers in delivering differentiated learning activities that engage all learners.
- Promote positive behaviour, emotional wellbeing, and personal development.
- Maintain a safe, stimulating, and inclusive classroom setting.
- Collaborate with teachers, therapists, parents, and external agencies to ensure coordinated support.
Required profile
- Experience working with children, preferably in an SEN or primary school setting.
- Patient, caring, resilient attitude with excellent interpersonal skills.
- Strong commitment to safeguarding and child welfare.
- Relevant qualifications such as a Level 2 or Level 3 Teaching Assistant certificate (desirable but not essential).
