Teaching Assistant – PRU (Southwark) – Full‑time, £95‑£115/day

About the role

We are seeking a resilient and proactive Teaching Assistant to support pupils aged 11‑16 in a specialist PRU located in Southwark, London. The role involves providing one‑to‑one and small‑group assistance to help students access the curriculum, manage behaviour and develop emotional regulation.

Key responsibilities

• Deliver 1:1 and small‑group academic support to pupils with additional needs.
• Implement and reinforce behaviour management strategies in line with school policies.
• Promote emotional regulation and positive engagement with learning.
• Collaborate with teachers and pastoral staff to create a safe, structured environment.
• Assist pupils in re‑engaging with education and rebuilding confidence.

Required profile

• Previous experience as a Teaching Assistant in a PRU, alternative provision or secondary school.
• Experience supporting pupils with SEMH, SEND or challenging behaviour.
• Confidence in behaviour management and learning support.
• Ability to build positive relationships with young people.
• Resilient, proactive and able to work full‑time immediately.
