Teaching Assistant – Secondary School (Full-time)

About the role

Prospero Teaching is recruiting a full-time Teaching Assistant for a medium-sized secondary school in Harrow. The role supports pupils in Key Stage 3 and Key Stage 4, working from 8:00 am to 4:00 pm on a temporary contract that runs until the end of the academic year, with the possibility of extension or a permanent offer based on performance.

Key responsibilities

• Assist teachers in delivering lessons for Key Stage 3 and 4 classes.
• Provide one-to-one and small-group support to pupils as needed.
• Help maintain a safe and inclusive classroom environment.
• Support behaviour management and pastoral care under the guidance of senior staff.
• Undertake administrative tasks such as preparing resources and recording attendance.

Required profile

• Experience working with children or young people.
• A degree (any discipline).
• Up-to-date safeguarding training completed within the last year.
• Right to work in the UK.
• Enhanced DBS certificate (or willingness to obtain one) and two professional references covering the last two years.

Required skills

• Safeguarding awareness.
• Basic classroom support techniques.
