Teaching Assistant – Secondary School (Full‑time, Temporary)

About the role

Prospero Teaching is seeking enthusiastic Teaching Assistants to support pupils in a secondary school environment. This full‑time, temporary position starts in September 2026 and offers the chance to make a meaningful impact on young people’s academic and emotional development.

Key responsibilities

• Assist teachers with lesson preparation, including sorting materials and setting up equipment.
• Support students during lessons and help maintain a positive classroom atmosphere.
• Manage behaviour and promote a respectful learning environment.
• Provide emotional support and monitor student wellbeing, escalating concerns when necessary.
• Follow safeguarding procedures and report any issues promptly.
• Collaborate closely with teachers to ensure smooth lesson delivery.

Required profile

• Teaching Assistant qualification or equivalent (desirable) or relevant experience working with young people.
• Right to work in the UK.
• Enhanced DBS certificate with online update service, or willingness to obtain one.
• Two professional references covering the last 24 months.

Required skills

• Ability to provide emotional support and monitor student wellbeing.
• Strong communication and teamwork skills.

What we offer

• Full‑time schedule: 8:30 am – 3:30 pm, Monday‑Friday.
