Teaching Assistant – Secondary School

About the role

We are looking for an enthusiastic Teaching Assistant to join a large mixed secondary school in Croydon from September 2026. The role involves supporting pupils with moderate learning difficulties across a range of subjects and year groups, helping them achieve their full potential.

Key responsibilities

• Create and maintain a purposeful, orderly and supportive classroom environment in line with lesson plans.
• Use strategies, in liaison with teachers, to support students in reaching their learning goals.
• Assist with the planning and delivery of learning activities.
• Establish constructive relationships with students, adapting interactions to individual needs.

Required profile

• Prior experience as a Teaching Assistant in a secondary school or a recent graduate aiming to become a qualified teacher.
• Experience or interest in supporting pupils with special educational needs (SEN) is highly desirable.
• Excellent interpersonal and listening skills with a commitment to student development.
