Teaching Assistant – Secondary School (Key Stages 3 & 4)

About the role

We are seeking a dedicated Teaching Assistant to join a thriving secondary school in North London. You will support students across Key Stages 3 and 4, helping them achieve their academic and personal goals in a brand‑new, purpose‑built environment.

Key responsibilities

• Assist classroom teachers in delivering lessons and managing daily activities.
• Provide targeted support for pupils on the ASD spectrum, including use of PECS and Makaton.
• Help students use walking/standing frames safely and independently.
• Support a wide range of subjects, adapting assistance to individual needs.
• Collaborate with a large, multi‑skilled support team to ensure inclusive learning.

Required profile

• Previous experience as a Teaching Assistant in a primary or secondary setting.
• Specific experience working with students on the ASD spectrum.
• Knowledge of PECS and Makaton communication methods.
• Ability to work flexibly within a dynamic, team‑oriented environment.
• Ambitious, driven and enthusiastic about supporting SEN learners.
