Teaching Assistant – Secondary School (SEN Support)

About the role

We are looking for a motivated Teaching Assistant to join a welcoming secondary school in Sevenoaks. The role focuses on supporting pupils with Special Educational Needs (SEN) and offers a valuable opportunity for recent graduates to gain hands‑on classroom experience.

Key responsibilities

• Provide classroom support for students with SEN.
• Deliver one‑to‑one and small‑group interventions.
• Encourage student engagement and promote positive behaviour.
• Assist teachers with lesson delivery and classroom activities.
• Build positive relationships with pupils to boost confidence and progress.

Required profile

• A degree in a core academic or social science subject (desirable).
• Genuine interest in supporting students with additional needs.
• Strong communication and organisational abilities.
• Positive, patient and adaptable attitude.
• Enhanced DBS on the Update Service or willingness to obtain one.
