Teaching Assistant – SEMH/SEND (Supply)

About the role

Join a network of specialist schools across Greater Manchester as a Teaching Assistant supporting children with Social, Emotional & Mental Health (SEMH) and Special Educational Needs & Disabilities (SEND). This supply position offers flexibility to work in primary, secondary and specialist settings while focusing on pupil support.

Key responsibilities

• Provide day‑to‑day classroom assistance to pupils with SEMH and SEND needs.
• Work across a variety of school types, including mainstream, PRU, alternative provision and secure settings.
• Adapt quickly to different environments and pupil requirements.
• Focus on supporting pupils without responsibilities for planning or marking.
• Maintain a positive, patient and resilient attitude in challenging situations.

Required profile

• Experience supporting children with SEND or SEMH in a school or care setting.
• Relevant qualifications are beneficial (e.g., TA Level 2/3, Makaton, BSL, Team Teach).
• Passion for helping children with additional needs.
• Patience, resilience and a positive attitude.
• Ability to adapt to varied environments and pupil needs.
