Teaching Assistant – SEN (Autism, Learning Difficulties) – Havering

About the role

We are looking for a dedicated Teaching Assistant to join a large specialist SEN school in Havering. You will support students with autism and other learning difficulties across Key Stages 3 and 4, helping them progress and reach their potential.

Key responsibilities

• Provide one‑to‑one support to pupils, building rapport and monitoring progress.
• Assist classroom teachers with lesson delivery and classroom management.
• Record observations and feed back information to teachers.
• Ensure safeguarding procedures are followed at all times.
• Contribute to a positive, inclusive learning environment.

Required profile

• Experience in SEN support, community care, youth work or a similar setting.
• Flexibility and ability to work with a range of special needs.
• Strong knowledge of safeguarding in schools.
• Enthusiastic, motivated, good communicator and team player.
• Training in PECS, Makaton, Signalong or Team Teach is desirable but not essential.
