Teaching Assistant – SEN (Complex Needs)

About the role

We are seeking a full‑time Teaching Assistant to support a small class of eight pupils with complex medical, physical and cognitive needs at a modern SEN school in Camden, London. The role starts immediately and runs for the academic year, providing hands‑on assistance to both students and the teaching team.

Key responsibilities

• Support eight pupils, including those with profound and multiple learning difficulties (PMLD) and severe learning difficulties (SLD), under the guidance of a teacher and a team of six other assistants.
• Deliver personal care tasks and help students with daily living activities as required.
• Assist in delivering lesson plans, preparing resources and adapting activities to meet individual needs.
• Collaborate with on‑site therapists and specialist staff to implement therapeutic strategies.
• Maintain accurate records of student progress and any incidents.

Required profile

• Previous experience as a teaching assistant or care worker in a special‑needs setting.
• Comfort working with children who require additional support and personal care.
• Reliability, punctuality and a professional attitude.
• Eligibility to work in the United Kingdom.
• Availability for full‑time work, Monday‑Friday 08:30‑16:00.
