Teaching Assistant – SEN Resource Base

About the role

We are looking for a Teaching Assistant to join a welcoming primary school in Clapham, supporting children with high‑functioning autism within the SEN Resource Base. The role starts in September and offers a supportive, inclusive environment where every child is valued.

Key responsibilities

• Support children with high‑functioning autism in the SEN Resource Base.
• Deliver individual and small‑group interventions.
• Assist pupils to access learning in the resource base and mainstream classrooms where appropriate.
• Promote communication, social interaction, independence and emotional well‑being.
• Build positive relationships with pupils, families and colleagues.
• Work collaboratively with teachers, therapists and the wider SEND team.

Required profile

• Enhanced DBS registration (or willingness to obtain) and registration on the Update Service.
• Genuine interest in working with children with Special Educational Needs, particularly Autism Spectrum Condition.
• Experience in childcare, education or related settings.
• Commitment to safeguarding and inclusive education.
