Teaching Assistant – SEN Support (Secondary School)

About the role

An excellent secondary school in Maidstone is seeking a dedicated Teaching Assistant to join its Special Educational Needs (SEN) team. This full‑time, temporary position starts in September and offers recent graduates a valuable opportunity to gain hands‑on experience in a supportive school environment.

Key responsibilities

• Support SEN students during lessons and throughout the school day.
• Provide targeted academic and pastoral assistance to promote progress.
• Collaborate with teachers to adapt learning activities to individual needs.
• Encourage student participation, confidence and independence.
• Help create an inclusive, supportive learning atmosphere.

Required profile

• Holder of a degree (or relevant experience working with young people).
• Passionate about supporting students with additional learning needs.
• Excellent communication skills and a positive attitude.
• Reliable, proactive and enthusiastic.
• Willingly obtain an Enhanced DBS check.
