Teaching Assistant – SEND Schools (Flexible)

About the role

Teaching Assistants are needed to support SEND schools across Birmingham, offering both long‑term assignments and day‑to‑day supply work. The role involves helping pupils with a range of additional needs access the curriculum, develop independence and engage socially.

Key responsibilities

• Provide classroom, small‑group and 1‑2‑1 support for pupils with SEND.
• Help pupils access the curriculum and engage in learning.
• Support communication, emotional regulation and positive behaviour.
• Promote independence, confidence and social development.
• Work alongside teachers and specialist support staff to meet individual learning and EHCP targets.

Required profile

• Previous experience working with children or young people with SEND (essential).
• Genuine passion for supporting pupils with additional needs.
• Patient, calm and adaptable approach.
• Strong communication and relationship‑building skills.
• Ability to work confidently as part of a school team.
