Teaching Assistant - SEND / SEMH / ASD

About the role

Protocol Education is seeking enthusiastic Teaching Assistants to support pupils with SEND, SEMH, ASD and PMLD from September. You will work directly with children in schools, helping them engage with learning and manage daily routines.

Key responsibilities

• Provide 1:1 or small‑group support to pupils with additional needs.
• Assist children in managing emotions, communication and sensory requirements.
• Support personal care, wellbeing and sensory routines as needed.
• Collaborate closely with teachers, SEND teams and other staff.
• Help create a safe, supportive and inclusive classroom environment.

• Calm and confident when supporting a range of needs.
• Reliable, adaptable and willing to get involved.
• Strong relationship‑building skills with children and staff.
