Teaching Assistant – SEND (Special Educational Needs)

About the role

We are recruiting a Teaching Assistant to join a specialist SEND school in Edgbaston. The school provides a therapeutic environment for children with autism and complex needs, aiming to ensure every child feels safe, enjoys learning and can reach their potential.

Key responsibilities

• Deliver one‑to‑one or very small group support to pupils with individual SEN requirements.
• Assist teachers in planning and delivering lessons, reinforcing learning objectives.
• Help create a calm, inclusive classroom atmosphere that promotes wellbeing.
• Monitor pupil progress and report observations to senior staff.

Required profile

• Level 3 Teaching Assistant qualification.
• Proven experience working with children who have SEND, autism or complex needs.
• Ability to provide personalised support in 1‑2‑1 or small‑group settings.
• Positive attitude and a genuine smile for every child.

Required skills

• Level 3 TA qualification (explicitly required).
