Teaching Assistant – SEND Specialist

About the role

Join a dedicated team at Oversands School, an independent specialist day school in Grange‑over‑Sands, supporting children and young people with Autism Spectrum Disorder and Social, Emotional and Mental Health needs. As a Teaching Assistant you will help learners develop skills, boost confidence and achieve meaningful progress.

Key responsibilities

• Assist teachers in delivering lessons tailored to SEND pupils.
• Provide one‑to‑one and small‑group support to promote learning and self‑esteem.
• Help manage classroom behaviour and create a safe, inclusive environment.
• Monitor and record pupil progress, sharing observations with staff.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to implement individual education plans.
