Teaching Assistant – September 2026 (Primary Schools)

About the role
Prospero Teaching is recruiting Teaching Assistants to support primary schools in and around Colchester, starting in September 2026. The role is part‑time to full‑time and will run on an ongoing, long‑term temporary basis.
Key responsibilities
- Work in local primary schools within the Colchester area.
- Assist teachers with classroom activities and student supervision.
- Provide support to pupils as required during the school day (8:30 am – 3:00 pm).
Required profile
- Previous Teaching Assistant or Learning Support Assistant experience.
- GCSE English and Maths at grade C or above.
- Right to work in the UK.
- Enhanced DBS certificate (or willingness to obtain one) and registration with the online update service.
- Two professional child‑related references.
