Teaching Assistant – September Start (Blackburn)

About the role

We are seeking a Level 2 or 3 qualified Teaching Assistant to join schools in Blackburn from September 2026. This temporary position offers the chance to work in vibrant primary classrooms, supporting pupils individually or in small groups.

Key responsibilities

• Assist the class teacher with lesson preparation, resource setup, and classroom tidying.
• Deliver small‑group reading interventions and one‑to‑one support.
• Provide additional help for pupils with special educational needs.
• Support children across the curriculum, help mark work and track progress.
• Supervise pupils during trips, activities and when unwell, and attend staff meetings.

Required profile

• Qualified Teaching Assistant (Level 2 or 3) with primary classroom experience.
• Strong classroom management and ability to handle challenging behaviour.
• Positive attitude, good communication and ability to motivate children.
• Willingness to work flexibly across different schools in Blackburn.

Required skills

• Experience delivering reading interventions and supporting SEN pupils.
• Ability to work collaboratively with teachers and specialists.
