Teaching Assistant – Special Educational Needs Support

About the role

We are seeking a compassionate Teaching Assistant to join a SEN school in Kingston upon Thames. The role is ideal for individuals who are passionate about supporting children with additional needs and are eager to develop their skills in a supportive educational environment.

Key responsibilities

• Provide one‑to‑one and small‑group support to students with special educational needs.
• Assist the class teacher in delivering inclusive lessons and adapting resources.
• Help create a safe, nurturing and stimulating learning environment.
• Collaborate with teaching staff, therapists and parents to monitor student progress.
• Maintain accurate records of student activities and achievements.

Required profile

• Genuine enthusiasm for working with children with special needs.
• Ability to follow instructions and work as part of a team.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Willingness to undertake training and professional development.

Required skills

• Basic understanding of child safeguarding procedures.
• Ability to use standard classroom equipment and assistive technologies.
