Teaching Assistant – Special Educational Needs Support

About the role

We are seeking enthusiastic Teaching Assistants to support pupils with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND) and Social, Emotional & Mental Health (SEMH) across a range of schools in Greater Manchester. You will work on a day‑to‑day supply basis, providing vital classroom assistance and helping children achieve their learning goals.

Key responsibilities

• Support teachers in delivering lessons to pupils with SEND or SEMH needs.
• Implement individual education plans and adapt activities to suit diverse abilities.
• Provide one‑to‑one or small‑group assistance, fostering a positive learning environment.
• Maintain accurate records of pupil progress and behaviour as required.
• Collaborate with school staff to ensure health, safety, and safeguarding standards are met.

Required profile

• Experience working with children who have SEND or SEMH needs, either in a school or care setting.
• Relevant qualifications are beneficial (e.g., TA Level 2/3, Makaton, BSL, Team Teach) but not mandatory.
• Patience, resilience, and a positive attitude.
• Ability to adapt quickly to different school environments and pupil requirements.
