Teaching Assistant – Specialist SEN School

About the role

We are seeking a full‑time Teaching Assistant to join a specialist SEN school in Partington, supporting primary and secondary pupils with profound and complex needs. The position starts ASAP and is a long‑term, temp‑to‑perm opportunity within a highly supportive environment.

Key responsibilities

• Provide classroom support for pupils aged 8‑19, working at EYFS and KS1 levels.
• Assist 1:1, 2:1 and in small groups with engagement, communication and daily learning activities.
• Support sensory‑based interventions and emotional regulation strategies.
• Adapt learning materials to meet diverse SEN requirements.
• Collaborate with teachers, therapists and support staff to deliver individualized care.
• Provide personal care while maintaining dignity and respect.

Required profile

• Passion for supporting children with special educational needs.
• Experience as a Teaching Assistant or working with SEN/SEMH pupils.
• Patient, compassionate and adaptable attitude.
• Willingness to work within a multidisciplinary team.
• Commitment to a long‑term role in a specialist setting.
