Teaching Assistant – Sports & Psychology Graduate (Southwark)

About the role

Remedy Recruitment Group is seeking recent Sports or Psychology graduates to work as Teaching Assistants in mainstream and specialist schools across Southwark. The role offers both part‑time and full‑time placements, providing hands‑on experience supporting pupils with special educational needs.

Key responsibilities

• Build strong relationships with pupils requiring one‑to‑one or small‑group support.
• Assist the class teacher in delivering lessons and leading activities.
• Support academic and social development in collaboration with the SENCO and wider staff team.
• Implement behaviour management policies and contribute to a positive learning environment.
• Provide tailored support to SEND pupils, including those with ASC, ADHD and SEMH.

Required profile

• Recent graduate (or final‑year student) in Sports, Psychology or related discipline.
• Interest in child psychology, social work, education or sports therapy.
• Based in Southwark or willing to commute to the area.
• Enthusiastic about supporting pupils with special educational needs.

Required skills

• Strong interpersonal communication.
• Ability to work collaboratively with teachers and support staff.
• Organisational skills for managing small‑group activities.
