Teaching Assistant – Support Students in Plymouth

About the role

We are looking for enthusiastic Teaching Assistants to join our schools across Plymouth on a temporary basis. You will work closely with classroom teachers to help deliver lessons, support individual learners and maintain a positive learning environment.

Key responsibilities

• Assist teachers with lesson preparation, resource setup and classroom activities.
• Provide one‑to‑one or small‑group support for pupils who need extra help.
• Implement Individual Education Plans (IEPs) and accommodations for students with special educational needs.
• Help manage classroom behaviour and promote inclusivity.
• Collaborate with teaching staff and support professionals to ensure smooth classroom operation.

Required profile

• Previous experience in a teaching assistant or similar support role is preferred but not essential.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build rapport with students, teachers and parents.
• Patience, empathy and a genuine passion for supporting student learning.
• Flexibility to work across different year groups and settings.
