Teaching Assistant – Year 3 (Full‑time)

About the role

We are looking for an experienced Teaching Assistant to join a mainstream primary school in Lightwater, supporting the Year 3 classroom on a full‑time, long‑term basis. The role involves working closely with the class teacher to deliver the KS2 curriculum and help pupils make progress in literacy, numeracy and other subjects.

Key responsibilities

• Provide general classroom support across the KS2 curriculum, assisting the teacher with daily lessons.
• Deliver 1:1 and small‑group interventions to support pupils in literacy, numeracy and other learning areas.
• Help maintain positive behaviour, classroom routines and pupil engagement throughout the school day.
• Prepare resources, set up activities and support the teacher in planning and delivery.
• Collaborate with the wider support team to encourage pupils’ confidence, independence and enjoyment of learning.

Required profile

• Minimum of one year experience working in a primary school setting (essential).
• Experience supporting KS2 pupils is highly desirable.
• Good understanding of primary school expectations, routines and behaviour management.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills, patient, enthusiastic and proactive.
• Reliable, able to commit to a full‑time, long‑term position and available to start ASAP.
