Teaching Assistant – Year 5 Intervention Support

About the role

We are seeking an enthusiastic Teaching Assistant to join a high‑achieving primary school in Haringey, North London. The role focuses on delivering targeted Maths, English and Phonics interventions for Year 5 pupils, helping them consolidate key skills before moving on to Year 6.

Key responsibilities

• Deliver targeted Maths interventions to small groups of Year 5 pupils.
• Support English attainment through structured intervention sessions.
• Provide Phonics support where required.
• Monitor pupil progress in collaboration with the class teacher.
• Encourage confidence, independence and positive learning behaviours.
• Work collaboratively with teachers and support staff.
• Help pupils achieve their academic potential.

Required profile

• Enthusiastic and passionate about raising attainment through intervention work.
• Experience in school support roles or recent graduate (e.g., education or psychology).
• Willingness to obtain an Enhanced DBS on the Update Service if not already held.
• Ability to work effectively with small groups and support the class teacher.
