Teaching Assistant – Year 5 & Maths Interventions

About the role

We are looking for a confident Teaching Assistant to join a well‑respected primary school in Haringey, North London, from September 2026. You will support a Year 5 class, deliver targeted maths interventions and help raise attainment across KS2.

Key responsibilities

• Support learning in a Year 5 classroom as a Teaching Assistant.
• Deliver focused maths intervention sessions.
• Lead small‑group academic support for pupils with specific needs.
• Supervise the class briefly when the teacher is absent, following prepared plans.
• Collaborate closely with teaching staff to monitor and promote pupil progress.

Required profile

• Proactive, reliable and comfortable stepping up when needed.
• Passionate about helping pupils make progress.
• Experience as a Teaching Assistant, a recent graduate, or an aspiring teacher.
• Willingness to hold an Enhanced DBS on the update service or to apply for one.
