Teaching Assistant – Year 6 (Full‑time)

About the role

We are seeking a full‑time Teaching Assistant to join the Year 6 team at a welcoming primary school in Islington. You will support pupils across all classes, helping them understand tasks, stay focused and make progress.

Key responsibilities

• Assist class teachers with lesson preparation and delivery.
• Lead small‑group sessions in English, maths and reading.
• Provide one‑to‑one support for pupils who need extra help, including those with SEN.
• Ensure pupils understand learning objectives and remain on task.

Required profile

• GCSE (or equivalent) grade C or above in English and Maths.
• Strong communication skills and a passion for supporting children’s learning.
• Ability to work collaboratively with teachers and staff.
• Motivation to gain classroom experience, either as an experienced TA or a recent graduate.

Required skills

• Basic proficiency in English and Maths concepts.
