About the role
An established international financial services organisation is seeking an experienced Desk Assistant to join its Commodities division in London. Supporting a fast‑paced front‑office team across commodities markets, this role is ideal for a highly organised and proactive professional who thrives in a dynamic environment and enjoys working closely with senior stakeholders.
Key responsibilities
- Provide comprehensive administrative support to front‑office and business stakeholders within the Commodities division.
- Manage complex diaries, coordinate schedules and arrange internal and external meetings across multiple time zones.
- Organise business travel, accommodation, transportation and detailed travel itineraries.
- Act as a liaison for internal departments, external clients and business contacts, maintaining a professional and responsive approach.
- Coordinate team meetings, training sessions, conference calls, workshops and corporate events.
- Support onboarding of new employees, including arranging equipment, system access and office requirements.
- Process invoices, purchase orders and other procurement‑related administration.
- Identify opportunities to improve efficiency and support the adoption of new technologies and productivity tools.
Required profile
- Previous experience in a Desk Assistant, Team Assistant, Executive Assistant or similar administrative support role.
- Background within banking, financial services, capital markets, trading, commodities, energy, metals or a related sector.
- Strong organisational and time‑management skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities simultaneously.
- Experience supporting senior stakeholders in a fast‑paced, demanding environment.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder‑management skills with high accuracy and attention to detail.
Required skills
- Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office.
- Proficiency with Microsoft 365 applications.
- Experience using Microsoft Copilot or other AI‑enabled productivity tools (advantageous).
