Team Leader – Care Services (Burnley)

About the role
We are looking for an experienced Team Leader to join our Burnley service delivering high‑quality care for individuals with learning disabilities, autism and mental health needs. Working closely with the Service Manager, you will help ensure regulatory compliance, staff development and person‑centred care.
Key responsibilities
- Support the Service Manager with day‑to‑day service management.
- Ensure appropriate staffing levels and alignment with assessed individual needs.
- Oversee CQC, health & safety and safeguarding compliance and contribute to internal audits.
- Assist with recruitment, onboarding, induction and training of new staff.
- Manage supervisions, appraisals and daily performance of team members.
- Promote a positive, transparent culture and model best practice.
- Review and keep person‑centred care plans up to date.
- Provide direct care when required and ensure consistency across the service.
- Maintain relationships with families, healthcare professionals and commissioners.
- Monitor financial performance, rota management, petty cash and budgeting tasks.
- Use internal systems (PeopleHR, Deputy, Nourish, Radar, Iplicit, JobTrain) to keep accurate records.
Required profile
- Willingness to work towards a Level 5 Diploma in Health & Social Care.
- Experience supporting individuals with autism, learning disabilities or mental health conditions.
- Strong understanding of CQC, health & safety and safeguarding regulations.
- Experience in complex care environments.
- Confident people‑management, team‑leadership and performance‑management skills.
- Excellent communication, decision‑making and IT proficiency.
- Flexibility to meet service needs.
- Preferably already hold a Level 5 Diploma in Health & Social Care.
- Knowledge of community engagement, mentoring, change management and financial planning.
