Team Leader - Catering

About the role

Canford School is seeking a motivated and hands‑on Catering Team Leader to oversee front‑of‑house operations across the school. This full‑time role runs for 40 weeks per year and involves leading a hospitality team to deliver an outstanding service for students, staff and visitors.

Key responsibilities

• Supervise daily front‑of‑house activities, ensuring high standards of customer service, cleanliness and food safety.
• Lead, coach and support the catering team, covering managerial duties when the department manager is absent.
• Collaborate closely with chefs and senior management to coordinate service delivery and maintain quality.
• Manage schedules, stock levels and health‑and‑safety compliance.
• Handle occasional evening and weekend shifts as required.

Required profile

• Previous experience in a hospitality supervisory or team‑leader role.
• Excellent communication, organisational and leadership abilities.
• Strong customer‑service focus with attention to detail.
• Basic Food Hygiene Certificate (essential).
• Good IT, literacy and numeracy skills.
• Flexible availability for evenings and weekends.
